"Deconstructing Magazine Covers" Group Presentation




All groups are to prepare for a 3 minute presentation on the magazine covers they were given in class. All members are to present on one area of the magazine.

    a. The colours are big and are attractive ( Hot in 2010, gold in colour)
    b. The colours are bright
    c. They affect the mood by using bright colours as bright colours can perk you up and dull colours will make you feel dull.

    2a. Yes. I think the person's leg is stepping infront of the words and another leg is behind the words is trying to show that she stepped into a hot 2010.
    2b. The character (hot in 2010). It attracts people to see the nagazine

    c)the colours are very colourful and attractive and the font used is very trendy which will attract teenagers.(e.g and [NEW])

    b)the pictures of the characters.to let other people notice the picture amd think that it is beautiful and interesting so they would buy the magazine.

  3. 1) Colors
    The colors are very bright and eye-catching. They are also bolded so it will attract more buyers who find the headlines interesting. It defines a festive mood since it is displaying the hot in 2010. (Vibrant mood)

    2) Size
    It is trying to emphasize on the upcoming events, fashion, music and gadgets of 2010. The headline is bigger than the others since it is placed in the center and it is meant to be the main headline.

    3) Creative Languages
    The title T3 is very catchy and it is very short and sweet so it is easy to remember. One of the substitute headlines, “Gadgets of the Decade” is easy to remember since people nowadays are interested in hi-tech gadgets. It is otherwise known as “The Best Gadgets Of 2010”. The title is persuasive. I am interested to find out what is hot in 2010 and the summaries of the contents in the cover page seem to be eye-catching to me. The appearance of the products and the “Xmas Shopping” is very useful so I will have a higher chance of wanting to buy it.

  5. A)The colours are loud,bright and bold(Creates a happy mood. The big,attractive title:HOTTIN 2010)
    B)No.(Bright,not dark and dull colours)
    C)The bright colours make us have a happy mood but darker colours make us bored.(light colours make us feel very relieved and the readers will think that the magazines will be fun to read.)
    2)Size
    A)Yes. It is to attract the reader attention.
    B)The big title attracts the buyer attention.

    B)Catchy.The colours are bright,big and easy to see.

    D)Yes.I will buy the product, because the text is interesting and attractive and there are prizes to be won for a contest. Instesd of,flipping over the pages to read.
    E)The prizes of gadgets and what are the new products in the year.(Yes. They are leftout or withheld intentionally to make us want to find out more and hence buying the product)

    b. No . They are of bright colours, making it more eyecatching.
    c. The colours are bright and eyecatching affects our mood, making us feel more cheerful.

    a. It is meant to put at same parts to attract move attention.
    b. The gadgets of the decade is bigger in proportion than the rest. It catches my eye.

    a. Yes, there is a slogan.

    c. Yes, as it only consist of two words.
    d. Yes, it is interesting as it talks about technology and shopping.
    e. Yes, the high technology and Apple Ipod slide will affect whether we will buy it.
